Insuppressible
Maine-based visual artist Lewis Rossignol took the scenic route to a career in art. After years of working blue-collar jobs, he returned to art school at 37, eventually turning his unmistakable style into a full-time creative career, with commissions for the likes of Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers and Tyler, the Creator. Living with Tourette syndrome, Lewis has found that drawing offers a rare sense of relief, making his relationship with art as personal as it is expressive. Drawn to his story and one-of-a-kind creative perspective, we set out to tell Lewis's story in the form of a short documentary, produced as a passion project here at ROVE. The film explores his unconventional path, creative process, and the powerful role art plays in his life. Insuppressible was premiered on BOOOOOOOM, was featured on Film Shortage, won a Vimeo Staff Pick and picked up both a Gold and Silver Telly in the 43rd annual Telly Awards.
